Danny and his family host this golf outing every year to provide funds and services for individuals in Wisconsin with, or affected by Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida Wisconsin, Ltd. works closely with Danny’s family to carry out their generous wishes.

As part of an effort to focus on mental health awareness, Spina Bifida Wisconsin is providing an educational Zoom for our members. Harpreet Quiana Singh-Gill, a psychiatric specialist with Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, works with patients in preventing, treating and diagnosing behavioral health issues. Harpreet is a Spina Bifida Wisconsin Board member and we are grateful to have her sharing her knowledge with our members.

Our Burger Bash is BACK! and this is the 10th annual bash hosted by SBWIS!
Join Kathy to welcome in 2025 on January 11th at 11:30am at Water Street Brewery Lake Country Delafield (3191 Golf Rd Delafield, WI 53018) for this fun social opportunity. We will have a private room in their wheelchair accessible restaurant for our group and more than just burgers will be on the menu.
For this event, SBWIS will pay for lunch for the person with spina bifida, plus one.
Register below by midnight on January 7th to let us know your coming! On Jan 8th you will receive an email confirming your attendance with details about the event and a link to their online menu.
The SBWIS office will be closed for the holidays starting Saturday, December 21st and reopening on Monday, January 6th. Celebrate and raise awareness about spina bifida by purchasing and wearing apparel SBWIS is selling as a fundraiser! Orders placed will ship in batches, so please be patient and allow up to 2 weeks for your order to arrive. When you check out you’ll be given all the details like tracking numbers for packages (items may ship separately depending on what you select), along with an estimated arrival date. You can check out with a credit card, PayPal or Amazon Pay on their secure website, watch for the confirmation email, and your items will be on their way!
Please share far and wide with friends and family (no international sales, sorry) and encourage them to buy and share too. You can purchase these for October Spina Bifida Awareness month or a holiday gift for teachers, friends and family. Thank you for supporting SBWIS!

Join us at Village Park to enjoy the Menomonee Falls Inclusive Playground and Splashpad. This event is generously sponsored by Bank Five Nine and we appreciate their generous donation so our families can enjoy this park and lunch together!
Deadline to RSVP for this summer fun event is Sunday, July 21st at midnight. We hope to have at least 5 families attending so we have a good peer interaction experience!

Lake Country Dockhounds game on Sunday, June 2nd 1:05pm against the Kane County Cougars from Geneva, IL. We will take you out to the ball game!
For each SBWIS member, and a plus one companion, this event includes admission to the game for Dugout seating Section 110 or 108.
For our SB members, this event is limited to 4 people requiring wheelchair seating and 6 okay with regular seating.
This seating arrangement is 2 wheelchair users sitting next to each other, and plus one companions in the row behind them. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU WON’T BE NEXT TO EACH OTHER. See diagram image below.
RSVPs will prioritize our SBWIS members and their plus ones. Additional friends and family members may or may not be allowed to attend, depending on responses. We need a minimum of 10 people, so please RSVP using the form below to help us make decisions about the event.

Adult Talk and Tacos is just a clever title for a fun lunch event for our adults with spina bifida.
Meet us for lunch at 12:30pm on Saturday, May 18th at La Cantina!
SBWIS will pay for lunch for our adult (18 years old and up) SBWIS members and one companion. Enjoy sharing your experiences, resources and peer support with one-another, while dining on delicious Mexican food. You don’t have to order tacos!
We are hoping to have a minimum of 6 adult members registered for this event. If fewer than 6 adults with SB register by the deadline, we will open the event to other ages, or cancel. You’ll receive an email Monday, May 13th with details and to confirm your attendance.
As of Feb 26th this event is full with 5 registered riders. You can submit the RSVP to be considered if someone cancels. Thank you.
SBWIS is offering our members the opportunity to try therapeutic horseback riding for your very first time! New riders will be given priority to attend this event and we need min of 3 and max of 5 people registered for it to happen.
This event will included unmounted time getting familiar with the horses and their care, and a mounted experience. Three Gaits requires closed toe and heeled shoes, weight of rider under 185lbs, and using one of their provided riding helmets.
If you’ve never done this before - now is your chance to TRY IT! If you have ridden before, you can register, but you may be bumped if we have enough new riders interested.

It is time to sign up! FYI, this event is limited to 30 people due to room size and will include FREE pizza/soda and indoor games. 1:30 arrival, pizza served and lunch social 1:45, 2:15pm - ? how ever long you choose to stay and play games.

SBWIS is hosting an event in Janesville for our members and we can’t wait to see you! Our plan is to host our spina bifida members (any age), along with their immediate family members for lunch (purchased from the venue) and Valentine’s Day crafts and activities.

NEW FOR 2023! Book Club for kids with spina bifida ages 4 to 10 years old (and a parent/guardian). SBWIS will host a virtual zoom read-along featuring the book “Who Do You See When You Look At Me?” by Angela Ray Rodgers. Join us via zoom to listen to the book, see the pictures and talk about our differences and abilities. Deadline to RSVP is midnight on November 9th.
Every child who attends the zoom read-along will receive their very own copy of the featured book in the mail. SBWIS will purchase the book on Amazon and have it delivered directly to your door.
